During his hiatus in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Matthias found himself overwhelmed by his surroundings in the beginning of his stay. Immersed in Brazilian culture, ordering food would sometimes be a daunting task. One of the many things that calmed his days was people watching. Sitting at a new friend's bar (Bar Johnny Batidas) in the late evenings would be a relaxing time to have a drink, eat, and take in the scene.
